During this process we had to remove existing equipment, build new equipment, relocate files, desks, and everything else remotely connected with our communication center. All of this had to be completed without disruption to our dispatching services. Being that we are also a Public Service Answering Point (PSAP), this added to the challenge.

Not only did your organization representatives complete this monumental task, but it was finished in a timely and efficient manner. Your point of contact employee, John Larson, performed flawlessly and confronted problems in a “head on” fashion until they were solved.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to keep you updated on the problem I was having with the printers not printing the Driver Information Sheet and the Crash Reports correctly. As you remember they would print the first inch or so of the reports then do a continual form feed. They would work outside of the docking station and break out box, but not while set up in the docking station and running the printer connection through the break out box. Working with Rich Watts from Chicago Comm, I sent over to him a complete system just like the printers are set up in the squads. What Rich found was this; go into set-up (F2 while the computer is booting) and go to the Advanced Tab, then locate the Parallel Port section and change it to run as Auto and Bi-Directional. Save the changes and exit. Making this change worked on the one Rich was working on, and it worked on the one that I changed in one of our squads.

I want to thank everyone who tried to find a solution to this problem, especially Rich who figured it out. Great job Rich.

On numerous occasions, the River Grove Police Department has had occasion to utilize portable radios rented from Chicago Communications. Recently we rented a number of portables for our River Front Fest which was held the weekend of July 15, 16 and 17th. Dealing with Diane Dupasquier and David Uvodich in your rental department was a very easy and smooth process. When we made a special request to receive the equipment one day earlier than originally agreed upon, Diane and David made it happen with no fuss. The equipment arrived packaged in a manner that made it easy to set up and worked perfectly as soon as we plugged it in. The equipment appeared to be in excellent condition and served us well for the complete event. Similarly, a few weeks earlier, we used radios rented form Chi-Comm for the Taste of Elmwood Park (which is actually held in River Grove) and that equipment also performed exactly as one would expect. We hope to continue to do business with Chi-Comm in the future should the need arise. Thanks for your prompt, efficient service.

Dear Mr. Hessler and Ms. Glashagel

In early 2003 we embarked on the large project of remodeling our 9-1-1 center and replacing out radio and 9-1-1 consoles. We contacted your company are were assisted with our plans by Bernie Streit.

Mr. Streit was very responsive putting together schematic diagrams and explaining various available options and designs. After choosing a plan, we determined that, due to the critical nature of this equipment and Chicago Communication's familiarity with out current design and functionality, you firm would be awarded the project.

In late 2004 the project began with the removal of existing walls and the temporary relocation of the 9-1-1 and communications equipment. The project manager, John Allen, assisted by Mike O' Malley did an excellent job ensuring that our emergency services were never interrupted and throughout the project worked to lesson the impact of such a large project on our personnel who worked side by side with this team from start to finish.

Particularly noteworthy throughout this project were the efforts of John Allen. John was on-site everyday from start to finish. He did an excellent job coordinating the project with subcontractors and diligently worked to see that all work was completed to our satisfaction.

Moreover, then we encountered unforeseen problems, Mr. Allen addressed them immediately, to our satisfaction and without additional expense.

We are certainly please to have Chicago Communications for this project. Please pass on our appreciation to all the people involved in this project.
